Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Project Athlete (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit https://www.project-athlete.com and related pages (collectively, the “Site”), including when you submit forms or otherwise interact with features we make available. By using the Site, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

For questions about this Policy or your personal data, contact us at hello@project-athlete.com.

1. Who we are

The Site is operated by Project Athlete in connection with training, performance content, and the Cedars Treeathlon initiative. Where applicable data protection law requires identification of a controller, the controller is the operator of Project Athlete for processing described in this Policy. You can reach us at the email address above.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

Depending on how you use the Site, you may provide:

  • Partnership inquiries. If you use the partnership application flow, we collect the details you enter in the form—typically including brand or organization name, contact name, phone number, email address, category or type of partnership, your stated primary goal (for example exposure, engagement, or credibility), and any motivation or message text you choose to include.
  • WhatsApp or resource requests. If you request content (for example an ebook) or similar outreach via our WhatsApp-related flow, we collect your first name and phone number, and we record the type of request associated with your submission.
  • Communications. If you email us or contact us through other channels, we receive the content of your message and any contact details you include.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information may be collected automatically, such as:

  • Usage and device data. For example general technical information about your browser, device type, approximate region derived from IP address, pages viewed, and referring URLs. This may be processed by our hosting and analytics providers.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. We and our analytics providers may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies where enabled. You can control many cookies through your browser settings.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our content;
  • Review and respond to partnership inquiries and evaluate potential collaborations;
  • Deliver messages or resources you request (for example via WhatsApp when that channel is available and you have provided your number);
  • Log submissions and operational outcomes (such as whether an automated message was delivered) for administration and troubleshooting;
  • Measure aggregate traffic and engagement, including through analytics tools when configured;
  • Comply with applicable law, enforce our Terms of Use, and protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the public.

We do not sell your personal information as that term is commonly understood in privacy laws, and we do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means.

4. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)

Where required, we rely on one or more of the following:

  • Contract and pre-contract steps — to handle requests you initiate (for example reviewing a partnership inquiry or sending a resource you asked for).
  • Legitimate interests — to run the Site securely, understand how it is used in aggregate, communicate with you about your request, and improve our services, balanced against your rights.
  • Consent — where we ask for consent (for example for certain cookies or marketing, if we introduce them separately), we will identify the purpose and you may withdraw consent where the law allows.
  • Legal obligation — where processing is necessary to comply with the law.

5. How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate the Site and as described here. Categories of recipients may include:

  • Hosting and infrastructure. Our Site is hosted on Vercel and related infrastructure, which process requests and may log technical data. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy.
  • Google Workspace / Google APIs. Form submissions may be appended to a spreadsheet or otherwise stored using Google services we configure for operational tracking. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Messaging providers. When you use features that send WhatsApp messages, your phone number and message content necessary to fulfill the request are transmitted through the messaging integration we operate. That provider processes data under its own terms and policies.
  • Analytics. When enabled, we may use Google Analytics (GA4) and/or Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Vercel’s Privacy Policy.
  • Professional advisers and law enforcement. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or lawful request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.

We do not share your information with unrelated third parties for their own marketing without your consent.

6. International transfers

We may process and store information in Lebanon and in other countries where our service providers operate (including the United States and the European Economic Area). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms recognized under applicable law.

7. Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Spreadsheet logs and similar operational records may be kept for administration, analytics, and legal compliance. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it where feasible.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, or to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@project-athlete.com. We may need to verify your request before responding.

California residents

If the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) applies, you may have additional rights regarding personal information, including to know, delete, and opt out of certain sharing. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law based on our current practices. You may still contact us to exercise applicable rights.

10. Children

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

11. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party websites or services (for example social profiles). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party sites.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required by law. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy where permitted.
